ARTWORK
Specifications and guidance for artwork are normally sent to you with your unique tailored quotation. In the event that your artwork is not “quite right” we are often able to correct this for you free of charge. If significant time is required we will revert with a quote before undertaking any corrective action.
We will agree proofing requirements in advance of the job.
Normally, once the artwork has been setup and checked, we will email back a PDF proof for you to ensure that nothing has been accidentally changed during this process. It is important that you do so. On receipt of your emailed approval the job will proceed.
We require artwork in different formats depending upon whether your discs are to be duplicated or pressed.
DUPLICATED CD & DVD ON BODY PRINT
Please supply your image as a JPG file saved as RGB at a minimum resolution of 300dpi.
PRESSED CD & DVD ON BODY PRINT
We can only accept digital artwork in High Resolution PDF format i.e. Print/Press ready.
The file must be a compiled image and not colour separated.
The design must have a maximum diameter of 118mm, 3mm bleed and a centre hole of 18mm.
Registration/crop marks should be included as per our templates.
All CMYK designs should ideally be accompanied by a colour proof.
If a white base is required, this must be indicated somewhere on the artwork. There is no need to include a white layer within the artwork unless it is part of the specific design i.e. you do not want white across the entire surface of the disc.
If your design is made up of solid ‘block’ colours and does not include any photographic imagery, graduations or other percentage tints, we strongly recommend the design is compiled using PMS Pantone colours rather than from CMYK. This will ensure that each colour is subsequently printed to as close a match as is possible to your original design. Please note however, due to the differences between printing on a polycarbonate substrate and printing on paper, an exact match may not necessarily be achieved.
